My name is Steve Stahl and I am the Head Wrestling Coach at James M. Coughlin High School. I am contacting you about a fundraiser that my team is running this season in partnership with the American Heart Association. It is a truly unique fundraiser that we are calling the “Thunder” Fund. The fund will work based on the number of pins produced by my wrestlers this season. Sponsors will be sought out by each wrestler. Similar in premise to a Walk-A-Thon, money will be collected from each sponsor for each pin. If a sponsor were to donate $.25 cents per pin and our team generated 100 pins during the season then that sponsor would owe the fund $25.00 This money will generate the “Thunder” Fund.

We are kicking off the fund with a student “Red Out” at Coughlin High School during the first home match where the Coughlin Student Body will be wearing red in support of the fund. This is where your company sponsorship is needed. We are asking for four local companies to donate a $100.00 each to provide 350 T-shirts that will be sold to the Coughlin Student Body, Faculty and Fans. The “Red Out” will occur on December 23rd when the Crusaders host the Wallenpaupack Bucks at 7 PM at the Coughlin Gymnasium. Money raised from the sale of the T-shirts will be used to start and promote the fund. The Thunder Meter , a visual representation of the fund, will be on display during each home match throughout the season and will be manned by an actual heart survivor.
