Dear Coaches,
In preparation for this year’s National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Best of Brand awards, we are in the process of identifying videos that have been created as marketing pieces for college wrestling programs this year. As explained in the original NWCA news release that was circulated earlier this year, there are three specific categories that team’s are eligible to submit videos for that are outlined below:
- Solid Service (for videos best demonstrating community service outreach): Examples include any community outreach projects and/or special events that your program highlighted.
- Pure Entertainment (for videos created to entertain and engage fans): Examples include human interest pieces on your student-athletes, “Behind the scenes” videos with your team, spoofs that your team put together, or any other video that served as a piece to entertain followers.
- The Highlight Reel (for top highlight video): Examples include any seasonal or event highlight videos that you put together to market your program.
If you are interested in submitting a video, please forward a link of your video to Tammy Tedesco (ttedesco@nwca.cc) with the category included in the subject line of the email. Programs are encouraged to use video sharing sites such as YouTube that allow for a consumer friendly format when uploading to Facebook. The ability to share it efficiently will play a role in the programs that advance deeper in the competition so keep this suggestion in mind. This submission needs to be received by June 1st, 2012 to be considered for an award. Once the submission is received, there will be a series of judging criteria that will take place to determine the eventual winners. The first round will include a new social media contest that will be featured on the NWCA Facebook page during the month of June. The details of this competition are included in the PDF Below.
