ELIGIBILTY: All wrestlers from grades 9-12 are eligible for the US High School Open. While this tournament is an open event, it is an elite tournament that will feature many of the nation's top scholastic wrestlers. All contestants must present a current USA Wrestling membership card or purchase one at the event.
ENTRY: Entry fee is $30 for all wrestlers. This entry fee must be submitted with registration and is non-refundable. All wrestlers must present a valid USA Wrestling Card at registration. If you do not have a USA Wrestling Card you may purchase one at registration. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER ONLINE.
WEIGHT CLASSES: 108, 117, 124, 130, 135, 140, 145, 150, 157, 165, 176, 194, 220 and 280
COMPETITION FORMAT: All championship bracket matches will be 2-2-2 periods while consolation matches will be 1-2-2. Tournament is double elimination with wrestle backs to eighth place. National High School Rules will be in effect. Headgears are mandatory and wrestlers may not wear school uniforms.
AWARDS: The top eight wrestlers in each weight class will receive specially designed US High School Open awards. Champions will receive a specially designed Adidas warm up jacket along with a medal. The top eight wrestlers in each weight class will be designated as a US High School Open All-American and will receive a certificate signifying this achievement. An outstanding wrestler award will be presented along with the most falls in the shortest time award.
COACHING: Each wrestler will be allowed to have two coaches. Each coach must have a floor pass that can be purchased with the entry form or at registration. Coaches' passes are $50, which includes a membership to the NWCA. Current NWCA members may purchase a coaches' pass for $20. No one will be admitted on the floor without a valid pass.
