Quality on-team leadership is one of the ingredients that supports the exceptional sport team programs. The NWCA stands behind the belief that leaders are not necessary born but, that leaders can be made by coaches who provide quality direction, knowledgeable guidance and feedback and plenty of opportunities to lead. Partnering with the United States Marine Corps and Missouri State University, the NWCA has developed an online gold standard training program for coaches and student-athletes that can be taken by anyone with internet access. As leadership is a valued outcome in any educational setting, the NWCA's leadership education program strives to better align sports programs with the broader goals and values of educational institutions.
To create a team leadership culture where leader-athletes learn how to bring the best out each other and coaches use the sport team as a training arena to bring the leader out of every student-athlete.
