His award-winning productions include the limited series The Kennedys and After Camelot, multiple 30 for 30 episodes, and the documentary feature film Happy Valley, which explored the scandal that rocked his hometown of State College, Pennsylvania.

A longtime coach, Koch learned discipline and compassion from community work, and self-reliance by having to support himself from a young age.

After college, Jonathan made his way to Los Angeles and started working for a company that represented young actors. In time he launched his own management company and, as a pioneer in celebrity branding, he aligned clients with companies, initiatives and products. He launched, which sold to a media conglomerate.

But in January 2015, during a sales conference in Washington DC, Koch fell ill. He was so sick, that doctors put him in a coma to save his life. A few harrowing weeks later he woke up with both mind and spirit intact.

But his body was severely compromised from the effects of septic shock. He resolved not only to survive, but to thrive.

Koch spent the next 18 months rebuilding. There were countless surgeries, endless rehab, and fittings for prosthetics.  Day after day he exceeded his doctors’ expectations. A pioneering surgeon saw in Koch the mental and physical strength to successfully receive a human hand transplant. Jonathan Koch made medical history when, just four months after getting a new hand, he was back playing tennis.
