Ohio State takes donated over 17K for Autism and completed over a 250 hours of community service
The Ohio State University wrestling program is actively involved in a wide-range of community service projects. In the summer of 2008, Coach Ryan started the Wrestle Against Autism tournament. 100% of the proceeds go to foundations and organizations. The following are some numbers for the 09’ tournament. 
  • WAA09 netted $17,000.
  • $10,000 was donated to Ethan Foundation for Autism
  • $3,000 was donated to 4 Paws for Ability for Christian Abbot's autism service dog (costs $12-15,000 per dog)
  • $3,000 was donated to 4 Paws for Ability for Kayla Tolliver's autism service dog (costs $12-15,000 per dog)
  • $500 was donated to ASA Greater Akron Chapter
  • $500 was donated to ASA Central Ohio Chapter
In addition to the Wrestle Against Autism tournament, the team has completed over a 100 hours of community service with a 100% participation from the entire team in the following projects:

 

  • Second and Seven
  • Local Children's Hospital
  • Local Soup Kitchen
  • Mother's Day 5K
  • Dance a thon
