Rochester Hills, MI.... CSG (Coatings Specialist Group™) and Hibiclens®, the sports world’s leading providers of antimicrobial products for surfaces, fabrics and skin,  today introduced the BacD™ Kit—Skin, Surface and Fabric, a complete program that helps prevent skin infections and works continuously for months on surfaces and washable fabrics to inhibit the growth of bacteria. Perhaps most notably, the new kit is effective against a wide array of bacteria and viruses on skin and surfaces, including: H1N1 Flu Virus, MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus), herpes and Impetigo.

As partners of the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA), CSG and Hibiclens collaborated to create an easy and affordable way for every wrestler to minimize the risk of cross-infection.

“Wrestling has been a very important sport to us for many years,” said Jack Doornbos, Executive Director of Marketing for Hibiclens. “After learning about CSG’s antimicrobial technology for surfaces and fabrics, it made sense for us to offer this comprehensive antimicrobial solution for athletes.”

The BacD Kit—Skin, Surface and Fabric is comprised of four products: Hibiclens, SurfaceClean®, SurfaceAide® XL, and FabricAide®. Each product comes in a 16 ounce container and can be easily applied. Typically, the $49.99 Kit will last an entire season. It is available at www.bacdkit.com or by contacting a Hibiclens sales representative.

“CSG and Hibiclens worked together to create the ultimate antimicrobial protection for athletes, especially wrestlers, and the equipment they use,” said Craig Andrews, CSG Chief Executive Officer “But the great thing about the Kit is that it can be used in all aspects of life. Sports, education, healthcare and everyday homes are all areas these products can and should be used”

Hibiclens is an FDA regulated skin cleanser that helps prevent skin infections and reduces the risk of cross-infection. It has antiseptic activity and a residual antimicrobial effect with rapid bactericidal activity against a wide range of microorganisms.  Hibiclens features residual germ killing action that lasts for up to 6 hours after washing and rinsing.

SurfaceAide XL is an EPA registered antimicrobial that transforms surfaces into materials that continually fight the growth of a wide array of bacteria, mold and fungi for up to three months. It is the world’s most environmentally-friendly antimicrobial product, as it creates a non-toxic antimicrobial coating on surfaces that is non-sensitizing to human skin. To date, SurfaceAide XL antimicrobial technology has been applied to over 35 million square feet of surfaces in schools, professional sports facilities, colleges, and medical centers.

Prior to the application of SurfaceAide XL, surfaces should be treated with SurfaceClean. Designed to work in synergy with SurfaceAide XL technology, SurfaceClean kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses on surfaces, and is effective against H1N1 Flu Virus and MRSA. It can be used daily to clean and disinfect surfaces and equipment.

FabricAide is an innovative antimicrobial product that when applied through the wash, will continually inhibit the growth of a wide array of bacteria, mold, and fungi on any fabric or textile. Defined by its durability, FabricAide’s unmatched antimicrobial effectiveness will last a minimum of 30 washes before another application is needed.  No other product will eliminate odor, staining and deterioration caused by microbial contaminants as well as FabricAide. It creates an invisible and odorless antimicrobial barrier on fabrics that is non-toxic and hypoallergenic.
