NWCA/USA Today Division I Team Coaches Poll – Week 4

The NWCA/USA Today Division I Team Coaches Poll for December 1, 2009, has been released. 

The NWCA/USA Today Division I Team Coaches Poll Committee is made up of one coach from each conference.  A number one ranking is worth 25 points and a number 25 ranking is worth one point.

Iowa retains their No. 1 spot for the fourth week in a row. Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Ohio State and Minnesota all stay the same for the second week in a row, while Central Michigan takes the No. 6 spot up from No. 10 the previous week. At the Northeast Duals Central Michigan went 4-0 on the weekend defeating: American, Bloomsburg, Maryland and Virginia.

Boise State moved to No.7 as Maryland dropped two places to land at No. 8 for the week with a 5-1 record on the season. Cornell hangs in at No. 9 for the second straight week as Lehigh moves into the top 10 for the first time this season.

For the first time this season, in a battle of No.1 versus No. 2, the Iowa State Cyclones (1-0) will host the returning NCAA Team Champions the Iowa Hawkeyes (7-0) on Sunday, December 6th at 6 p.m.

A new poll will be released every Tuesday from now until the week of the NCAA Division I Wrestling Tournament and can be found at www.nwcaonline.com.
