The NWCA/USA Today Division I Team Coaches Poll for December 22, 2009, has been released.
Iowa retains their No. 1 spot for the seventh week in a row as the rest of last week’s top 10 teams hold strong as well. Boise State and Maryland tie this week at No. 8.
Central Michigan put up solid wins against DII power Nebraska Kearney with a score of 37-3 and Nebraska by a score of 29-6, dropping Nebraska to No. 14 this week.
Division I wrestling action will resume next week with the 47th Annual Midlands Championship and the Southern Scuffle.
The NWCA/USA Today Division I Team Coaches Poll Committee is made up of one coach from each conference. A number one ranking is worth 25 points and a number 25 ranking is worth one point.
There will be no coaches poll released on December 29, 2009, and rankings will resume again on January 5, 2010, the NWCA/USA Today Division I Team Coaches Poll can be found at www.nwcaonline.com.
