NCAA WOMEN’S Regular Season Poll #1

Manheim, PA – With the announcement that Preseason #1 Simon Fraser University will not be competing in NCAA competition for the Spring Semester, the top spot for the tournament team rankings now goes to McKendree University who slides up from #2 in the NWCA Coaches Poll for NCAA Women released on Wednesday. McKendree leads the way by claiming half of the ten #1 spots; Felicity Taylor (116), Camerin Guerin (130),  Emma Bruntil (136), Alara Boyd (143), and Sydnee Kimber (191). King University is the only other school to have multiple athletes ranked #1 with Jaclyn McNichols (101) and Cheyenne Sisenstein (123). Other schools with top-ranked athletes are Augsburg University, Emmanuel College, and North Central College.

INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS

Jumping into the team rankings this week is Adrian College at #10 and Schreiner University coming in tied at #12 with Lakeland University.  Dropping out of the poll are Simon Fraser University and East Stroudsburg University.

Ranking Criteria: Teams will be permitted to enter two wrestlers per weight class, but only 15 total. Each team may receive points from only one wrestler per weight class. That point system is as follows: 1st – 16 points, 2nd – 12 points, 3rd – 10 points, 4th – 9 points, 5th – 7 points, 6th – 6 points, 7th – 4 points, 8th – 3 points.
