NOVEMBER 2022 | COACHING DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR’S REPORT

by Kerry Regner, Director of Coaching Development

The 2022-23 Wrestling Season is officially underway! The collegiate season is already nearly a month into competition, with most high school and youth seasons beginning official practice. In preparing for this wrestling season, the NWCA has educated and trained approximately 350 coaches in eight states through our Leadership Academy for both scholastic and collegiate wrestling coaches. For those unfamiliar with our Leadership Academies, they were designed by many of the nation’s top coaching development experts, sports science researchers, academia scholars, and wrestling coaches. This crucial course continually elevates coaches to new levels, educating coaches to work with their athletes on new and healthy levels to continue developing athletes.

Over the next month, the NWCA will be working on loading up our spring schedule with more Leadership Academies around the country. If you are interested in us hosting a Leadership Academy in your area/state, please contact us to work on setting up a date for spring 2023.
