NWCA 2021-22 Regular Season NCAA Women’s Poll #4

MANHEIM, PA – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced their January NCAA Women’s Wrestling Coaches tournament rankings and their second dual rankings. King University remains on top of both polls, with McKendree University coming in second.

King stays atop the dual meet poll after winning the NWCA National Duals title over McKendree, who is ranked second. Third-place finisher North Central College is ranked third, followed by Colorado Mesa University at fourth, and Tiffin University at fifth.

INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS

King earns 118 points and is ranked first in the tournament poll, with 14 individuals ranked. McKendree also has 14 individuals ranked, including four at No. 1 as they closed the gap, earning 112 points. Simon Fraser University and North Central swap spots, with Simon Fraser moving to third with seven individuals ranked and 60 points. North Central earned 55 points, with nine individuals ranked. Augsburg University rounds out the top five with 43 points, and four individuals ranked.

Olivia Shore of Tiffin University and Emily Shilson of Augsburg stay atop the 101- and 109-pound rankings while McKendree’s Felicity Taylor moves up to the top line at 116 pounds. Karla Godinez-Gonzalez is still ranked first, but she moved to 123 pounds. King’s Montana DeLawder moves up to the top spot at 130 pounds, as does Zoe Nowicki of Adrian College at 136 pounds.

McKendree’s Alara Boyd also stayed atop the rankings but moved to 143 pounds. That cleared the way for teammate Kayla Marano to move up to the top line at 155 pounds. King is the only other school with more than one individual ranked No. 1 as Chey Bowman checks in atop the 170-pound rankings. At 191 pounds, Sydnee Kimber of McKendree stays No. 1.
The NWCA will release regional and national wrestlers of the month for the third time this season. The regional awards will be released on February 3, with the national award scheduled to come out on February 7.
