NWCA ANNOUNCES RETURN TO IN-PERSON CONVENTION
Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa set to host the NWCA 2022 Convention
Manheim, PA – On Tuesday, the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced the return to an in-person event for the 2022 NWCA Convention. The 2020 and 2021 events were held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The convention will be coming back grandly at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa (Ponte Vedra, FL), which sits next to the world-renowned TPC Sawgrass course known far and wide for its signature island 17th Hole as well as the headquarters of the PGA Tour. Title sponsors for this year’s event are ARMS Software, Cliff Keen, Defense Soap, and Resilite.
The Wrestlers in Business Network (WIBN) will also be joining the convention. They will have leaders from over twenty chapters on location for sessions pertaining to effective chapter management, personal networking, business strategies, and many more exciting topics. WIBN leaders will also have the opportunity to schedule golf outings.
“Our entire organization is beyond excited to be back in person for the 2022 Convention. We have worked hard over the past two years to provide high-level coaching development via a virtual platform. Still, there is just no replacing having the key influencers in our sport come together for three days focused on the vital signs and growth of our sport,” shared NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer. “We have secured for our members a premier location for this event at the Sawgrass Marriott Resort and believe we will have an opportunity to set new attendance records. Brining in the WIBNand connecting our wrestling coaches to business leaders is going to help solidify our programs and help coaches connect their athletes to high-level internships and job opportunities.”
Also joining the event will be the Division II “Jim Koch” Hall of Fame Banquet. Division II will run their event alongside the Division III Hall of Fame which was added to the convention in 2019. The honors will take place on Saturday night, July 30. Tickets for the event are $50 and may be purchased online by clicking here: (DII - DIII).
The NWCA is still accepting exhibitor registrations via the registration page. Additional information may be obtained by contacting NWCA External Operations Director Dan Weaver at dweaver@nwca.cc.
Those registered before 11:59 pm EST on December 31 will be entered into a drawing for a $1,000 donation to the wrestling program of their choice.
More information regarding the Convention and its schedule will be announced as the event draws nearer.
