Penn State wins 60th in a row; Campbell ranked for first time in school history
Manheim, Pennsylvania – Top-ranked Penn State opened up its home schedule with its 60th straight dual meet victory on Sunday with a 45-0 shutout over Navy. It was the 49th straight home sellout for the Nittany Lions, who come in ranked No. 1 in the nation for the 34th straight NWCA Division I Coaches Poll.
Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina, was long a Division I doormat in wrestling. The outdoor dual placed the wrestling mat on the baseball field at Virginia Tech’s English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park. Hokie fans weren’t disappointed as the home squad got a win at heavyweight to beat visiting Northwestern.
